Activity-based sessions take the pressure off. When families are doing something they love, the connection happens naturally—and my job is simply to document it.

Where real life becomes art

These sessions are about photographing families as they truly are—doing the things they love together. Whether that’s skateboarding down the street, playing board games at home, sledding in winter, swimming in summer, or spending an afternoon on the golf course, these sessions reflect real life in this season.

Instead of directing or recreating moments, I document what naturally unfolds when families are engaged, comfortable, and connected. Activity-based sessions are relaxed, personal, and deeply meaningful—because they’re built around your story.

This approach is perfect for families who want photos that feel honest, lived-in, and uniquely theirs.

What is an activity session and how is it different than a family lifestyle session?

An Activity Session is a family photo experience built around something you genuinely love doing together. Rather than posing or recreating moments, I document real life as it naturally unfolds—whether that’s skateboarding, playing board games, sledding, swimming, golfing, or another meaningful activity you share.

Unlike traditional family lifestyle sessions, which focus on gentle prompts and loosely guided interaction, Activity Sessions are rooted in movement and shared experience. The activity leads, and connection follows.

These sessions are relaxed, personal, and deeply intentional—designed to tell the story of who your family is right now, through the things you love doing together.

  • Almost anything that feels natural to your family works beautifully. Activities that involve movement, focus, or interaction tend to photograph especially well.

    Some examples include:

    • Skateboarding or biking

    • Board games or puzzles at home

    • Sledding, swimming, or seasonal activities

    • Golfing, fishing, or outdoor hobbies

    • Cooking, baking, or creative projects

  • Very little. I’ll gently guide if needed—mostly to help with light or positioning but my focus is on observing rather than directing.

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s documenting how it feels to be together in this season of life.

  • Activity Sessions can happen:

    • At your home

    • In your neighborhood

    • At a meaningful location tied to the activity

    • Anywhere that feels comfortable and authentic to you

The location should support the activity, not distract from it.

  • Not at all. There’s no performing or posing required. You simply do what you’d normally do, and I step in only when needed to guide light, space, or pacing.

  • Yes. The 60-minute session allows for a natural transition from activity-based moments into slower, connection-focused family imagery.

  • Absolutely. These sessions work beautifully for families with young kids, teens, and even grown children—especially when there’s a shared activity everyone enjoys.

Intentional time. Honest imagery.
