What Order To Hire Your Wedding Vendors In

Woohoo!! If you’re reading this, you’re likely standing in front of the starting line of wedding planning ready to hit the ground running! Now, wedding planning can be a lot, that is no secret. You may be feeling overwhelmed and wondering where to start with it all.

Which is exactly why I’m here today! To give you a big piece of the puzzle to wedding planning to hopefully help allow things to run smoother for you. That puzzle piece being in particular: wedding vendors and what order to hire them in. There is a method to the madness and hiring them in somewhat of an order can enable them all to work harmoniously with you in creating your dream wedding day.

To find out what that order looks like, just keep on reading!

01. Wedding Planners

Wedding planners are certainly optional, but trust me, if you do decide to have one you’ll be thanking yourself! They can help to save you time and stress by offering their expertise on what to do, when to do it, and taking matters into their own hands. They can help you with any questions you may have or issues regarding wedding planning and kind of take the bulk of it off your plate.

02. The Venue

Secondly, your venue. This is where your wedding will take place so this is, of course, one of the most important aspects. Make sure to stay within your budget range and if you don’t have a budget yet, make one. When looking for the perfect venue, be 100% sure that you love it and you can picture yourself getting married there.

03. Videographer and Photographer

Videographers and Photographers get booked up very quickly, some even two years in advance. But, for the most part, you can book them a year in advance. These vendors are going to be capturing all the special moments and memories for you and your spouse.

04. Band or DJ

A wedding isn’t complete without the band or DJ. The band or DJ you choose will set up the vibe for the entire night so pick one that has experience with weddings and has a similar music taste to you! You’ll also likely want one with a big personality and the ability to be able to get your guests up and dancing at the reception.

05. Caterer

Food is a NEED for weddings, you don’t want anyone starving! Caterers need plenty of time to prepare meal plans for you and your guests. They’ll need a headcount and meal choices along with appetizers and more. Other than the food, you may need a bartender as well if you plan on having alcoholic beverages available during your wedding. So give them a call and book them asap.

06. Wedding Dress and Tuxedos

You must dress to impress!! If you plan on doing tuxedo rentals and possibly a custom gown, book them or pick out your wedding dress far in advance. Although tuxedos can be much easier to choose from, wedding gowns are not. They may need alterations or much more.

07. Florist

Unless your doing a DIY wedding and are not planning on having real flowers, florists are just as important. It takes time for them to prepare all the florals for your wedding especially if you want specific florals that need to be ordered.

08. Hair and Makeup Artist

The next thing on your vendor to-do list is booking your hair and makeup artist. You don’t necessarily need both of these but if you want a stress-free day, I recommend booking both. And be sure to have a hair and makeup trial before your wedding to make sure you love the results.

KIND WORDS

“ We've worked with quite a few professional photographers in the past and Whitney was hands down the best we've ever worked with. I don't understand how she manages to capture so many amazing shots in so little time. She is great at walking you through the photoshoot so that everyone feels comfortable and somehow got my cranky toddler to smile and look at the camera. She also suggested taking photos in different ways that were highly flattering. She clearly knows her way around a camera and her editing skills are also superb. I can't recommend her highly enough. We are thrilled with our pictures.”
